The Knit Before Christmas

Chrismas at Sea is thrilled to be hosting a monthly event for Sit ‘n’ Knit NYC, New York’s most popular, diverse, fun and active knitting groups (crocheters also welcome!).

The third Wednesday of each month will be Sit ‘n’ Knit at SCI, from 6-8pm in the Christmas Room at 241 Water Street. You must be a member of Sit ‘n’ Knit to attend, so pop over to the website and become a member. Sit ‘n’ Knit events fill up fast, so once you receive the announcement, scoot on over and sign up!

We’ve got great lighting, seating and great company–what’s stopping you?

If you are in Lower Manhattan, I hope you will join me in the World Financial Center for In the Loop, a knit and crochet  for charity group.  Last year In The Loop supported Christmas at Sea by making helmets and hats for seafarers. This year they are keeping up with knitting trends and knitting socks.

I joined Ina Braun for the first event of the season. Ina provides instruction and assistance for beginners and is a lot of fun, to boot. Not only will Ina teach you how to make socks, but she will provide you with yarn and patterns as well.  Ina also offers private lessons–you can find more details on her website (see the link above). I thought it was really fun to knit in such a big, polished corporate setting–warmed the whole place up a bit.
