I've seen the letters RSS but don't know what they are or how it works. And what does TrackBack URI stand for and how does it work?
St. Clement's Episcopal Church Women are going to the Seamen's Institute in New York, on November 6th, with all the items we knitted over this year. They don't want the old Christmas cards, I don't remember what else that they don't want us to bring. They want puzzle game books, playing cards, light scented hand lotion. Don't renenber what else.
We will be wrapping and packing all the things that someone else has made, like the vest, socks, hat and scarfs, and maybe the new Mariner's hat and slippers.
Sincerely

It's nice to hear from someone who received one of our packages of hand-knit goodies. It's a trip to know that something I made may be in far away port right at this very minute. I am really looking forward to knitting some new items for CAS in 2008!

I have no website,,that I know of. Sorry. I just know how to write the e-mails. The Seamens's Church Institute in New York is a very nice place to visit, they have a very pleasant cafe. Then you can visit the close by eateries. And gift shops. Though the SCI has a nice gift shop.

I attend St.Clement's Episcopal Church in Hawthorne,NJ. I found out about the SCI from one of our knitters who makes premature baby hats, which we send to the hospitals in NJ. Then, I went on one of the wrapping trips that the SCI has for Christmas at Sea. That was about 3 yrs. ago. It takes me awhile to complete one set, as we make either a hat and scarf or a vest. After my current scarf and hat, I'll be doing a vest. What's nice about this project is that they give us the yarn, then we knit and return the knitted items in October or November. I just found out about this e-mail address, because I was looking for a Watch Cap pattern. I like what I saw, so I copied the Newsletter also. Most of the women who knit, belong to our ECW (Episcopal Christan Women). And I can say we have taught some of them to knit or crochet. It was nice to see one pattern was for a crochet scarf. I will give that to our leader Gail Blum, she and I distribute the baby hats and blankets.

Hi everyone! I am posting so people will know there's a Christmas at Sea knitter in Fresno, California, zip code 93705. I haven't been able to knit much for a couple of year because of taking care of my elderly mother, but I'm back to knitting now and in the last month I've finished a watchcap and scarf that had been a UFO for a year, and I've almost finished a pair of socks. More on the way for next year. Merry Christmas to all!

Jeanette - I am writing so you can add our "group" to the map. I stumbled upon the site while looking for the address to send our latest box of socks and scarfs. My Mom, Edith DeVoe has been knitting CAS for years. Mom is proud that us 3 daughters have now started! Edie and I like to make scarfs, we find them easy to do on long car trips or while husbands watch all those fall football game! Alice knits hats or socks. Please locate our group in New Brunswick, NJ since that is where Mom lives (I live in Hockessin, DE and Edie lives in Mount Arlington, NJ)
